INITIATIVES

Special initiatives will be put in place to address the varying problems facing our society. It is of great importance that the root problems be identified and addressed as they are responsible for many of the other problems that are plaguing the society. Once these root problems are dealt with many of the other problems will disappear or they will be greatly reduced. For example if we have a proper garbage collection system in which the varying types of garbage are separated and recycled, the issues of our dirty environment, disease outbreak and of garbage blocking our drains and gullies, plus ending up in the sea would be greatly reduced.

CONSTITUTION

JAP thinks that the present constitution does not serve the best interest of the populace and country as it gives too much power to the government in general and the Prime Minister in particular. It lacks the necessary checks and balances and does not adequately protect the interest of the citizens, especially from abuse by the state.

DISCIPLINE

It can  clearly  be seen that indiscipline has overtaken our society.  It has now become a ‘free for all’ with persons going about and doing as they please with little or no regards to the rights of others or the rule of law.

ENVIRONMENT

It is said that nature maintains it balance. This is very true and it is necessary for us to live in harmony with nature.

EXTORTION

One of the greatest threats facing Jamaica today is the rapid and unabated rise in extortion. Persons are being extorted in all sectors of our society from the single hairdresser and taxi drivers, to large  companies.

GARBAGE

The proper management of the collection and disposal of garbage is of utmost importance to solve many of the problems

INFRASTRUCTURE

INTERNET

With the advent of the Internet and wireless communications, the way we live our lives has changed drastically over the last three decades.

THE POLICE

For crime to be contained, curtailed and eliminated, a highly motivated police force working closely with the citizens whom they serve  is a must.

PRISON REFORMS

The state of our penal system is in a very deplorable condition. Despite many promises by both JLP and PNP administrations very little has been done to alleviate the problems.

RECONCILLATION

Thousands of Jamaicans have suffered grave injustices at the hands of the state and its agents. Most of these people tend to be from the lower class and they live with great bitterness at the wrong they had suffered.

ROAD USE AND ROAD SAFETY

The management of the flow of traffic will be look at with a view to increase safety, alleviate the congestion and keep the flow of traffic at an acceptable level at all times.

SIMPLE THINGS

There are many simple things that can be done which does not cause much but will greatly improve the quality of life for many Jamaicans.

SOCIAL AMENITIES

TARGET ZERO

A JAP government will launch ‘Target zero’ with the aim of keeping  murders, road deaths  and police killings at zero. This is the only target that we think is acceptable.

VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES

The vulnerable communities consist of our children, elderly, mentally and physically disabled as well as individual persons who are at a disadvantage by virtue of their socio-economic condition.
