This is very true and it is&nbsp;necessary for us to live in harmony with nature. When our activities&nbsp;push nature out of balance the results can be very disastrous. It can&nbsp;results in disease outbreaks, fires, floods, droughts, famines,&nbsp;hurricanes, invasion of pests and exceptionally hot and cold weather. These can cause great loss of lives and suffering among the people.. &nbsp;There are also long&nbsp;term consequences as we are seeing with the effect of global&nbsp;warming and the erosion of the ozone layer and our beaches right&nbsp;across the island.<br>The environment will be given&nbsp;top&nbsp;priority attention by a&nbsp;JAP&nbsp;government&nbsp;and&nbsp;laws to strengthen &nbsp;the power of the monitoring&nbsp;agencies such as NEPA and the NRCD&nbsp;will be enacted. We will also&nbsp;work closely with the NGOs in the protection and rehabilitation of our&nbsp;environment.&nbsp;Education of the public on the need to take care of the environment&nbsp;will be undertaken in our schools and all sectors of our society. The&nbsp;proper collection, disposal and recycling of garbage will be actively&nbsp;pursued.
