The Media
Over the last two decades, the role of the media in society has changed greatly. The number of media
houses have increased and this along with the birth of social media has changed the way that
information is conveyed and increase its availability. The expansion of the internet has greatly raise the
number of persons who now have access to these information. JAP will ensure the continued
independence of the media and its freedom from interferance and they serve the public.
The role of the media, both traditional and social media, is critical and cannot be over emphasied as it
relates to the intention of JAP to educate the population and get important information to the people so
that they can make informed decisions to better their lives and that of their children. This is one of the
main channel that will be used to interface with the public. JAP will be working very closely with the
media houses to design plans to get information out and educate the public on relevant issues and keep
them informed on the work of the government. We will also establish a large presence on social media
in order to reach those persons, especially the younger generation, who get most of their information via
this means. Pages nad groups will be set up on all the popular social website such as facebook and
twitter. At the same time this will also serve as a channel to feedback information and concerns to the
government.
