The Constitution
JAP thinks that the present constitution does not serve the best interest of the populace and country as it gives
too much power to the government, lacks the necessary check and balance and does not adequately protect the
rights of the citizens especially from abuse by the state. As such it will seek to draft a new constitution after
extensive consultation with the public, private sector interest, non governmental organizations, religious
organizations and the various political parties. All attempts will be made to reach a concencus with all the groups
as much as it is possible.
Some of the major thing that JAP will avocate for are
1. Term Limits for country's leader
2. A republic form of government
3. Fixed election date
4. Minister picked from the Public after consultation and public hearing
5. Fixed Ministries
6. By-election dates will be set by the electrial commision
7.The entrenchment of the local government system
8. Appointmens
9. Bail act
10. Bill of rights
11. Borrowing power
12. Immunity of officials
13. cruel and unusual punishment
14. Double jeapodory
15. Elections and dates
16. length of term and term limits
17. impeachment
18. pordon power
19. Searches and seizures
20. Speedy trial, right to
