SOCIAL SECURITY
Social security is extremely important especially for the many persons who have reached retirement and those in need of the state assistance. Over the years this ministry has not been given adequate attention or resources and some of its function have now been taken over by MPs and councillors and have been politize thus preventing deserving persons from benefiting from these services. These services will be restored to the Ministry of Social Security where they can be carried out by civil servants.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Jamaica will seek to have and maintain good relationship with all other countries and ensure that mutual respect and fair trade is observed. We will insist that all our nationals living in or visiting a foreign country be treated with respected and within the laws of that country.
SPORTS
Sports is a great socializing and strong unifying agent which has served to unite many persons and communities. The prowess of our sport personalities in all areas have served to give us great pride and international recognition. JAP will continue to provide the support for sporting activities and will seek to establish sport and recreational facilities in our communities.
CULTURE
Jamaica has a unique culture which is appreciated throughout the world. It plays a very important part in the lives of the people in the country. Tourists visiting are always keen to observe and participate in our cultural celibrations. JAP will seek to take steps to expose our culture to the younger generations so that it will not die, especially given the influence of other cultures on their lives.
TECHNOLOGY
JAP will work to increase the availability and use of technology in all sectors of the society so as to improve knowledge and productivity. Tax relief and other concessions will be granted to manufacturers and institutions on the purchases of some technological equipment.
